Shirley, you can’t be serious!

This article documents a 2024–26 NSW domestic‑violence case in which a high‑risk victim who sought police protection was misidentified as the perpetrator after false counter‑allegations were accepted without investigation. Despite extreme‑risk scores under mandatory assessment tools, protections were not triggered, evidence was lost, and oversight bodies declined to intervene — leading to serious, lasting harm.

Australia’s DV Policy is Gaslighting Male Victims

Australia’s domestic‑violence system is built on ideological assumptions, outdated behavioural models, and blind spots in national data collection that render male victims effectively invisible. When institutions cannot detect the types of DV harm men disproportionately suffer – reputational abuse, systems abuse, and misidentification – the result is not neutrality, but structural injustice.

We need to investigate all allegations.
